#LocalNews On the eve of PNG's 50th independence anniversary and four years after his passing, the statue of the founding father of the nation Grand Chief Sir Michael Thomas Somare was unveiled at the Parliament house this evening in Port Moresby. Dubbed as the statue of Unity, it was unveiled by Prime Minister James Marape, Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika, Governor General Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae and Speaker Job Pomat. Lady Veronica Somare was also in attendance along with other dignitaries. #
